Jackson County Contacts

This is a private reference site, not a government office. It cannot confirm whether anyone is in custody or has been released, obtain an official booking record, release or transfer a person, post bond, or act for a requester. Contact the government office that holds the record or controls the custody decision.

Official Offices and Record Routes

Choose the contact according to the facility and the question. Jackson County Jail records belong with the Sheriff's Office, court outcomes belong with the Clerk, and state prison or parole matters belong with Georgia agencies.

Jackson County Sheriff's Office and Jail

Jefferson, GA 30549
Main: 706-367-8718
Jail operations, Captain Rodericus Knox: 706-367-6106

Jackson County Central Records

Supervisor: Denice Fowler
Phone: 706-387-6012
Open-records email: sheriff@jacksoncountysheriff.us
In-person requests: 555 Stan Evans Drive, Jefferson, GA 30549

The Sheriff's research does not state separate public counter hours, so call before visiting. A release-record request should include the full name, approximate booking date, and booking number if known. Ask for the release date and time, reason or type, and whether the person went to the community, supervision, or another agency.

The Sheriff's published fee guidance allows administrative, search, retrieval, copying, and access-supervision charges, with no charge for the first 15 minutes. Copies are generally $0.10 per page unless otherwise noted, and the office specifies money order or certified cashier's check from a local bank.

Jackson County Clerk of Courts

Camie W. Thomas, Clerk
5000 Jackson Parkway, Suite 150
P.O. Box 7
Jefferson, GA 30549
Phone: 706-387-6255
Fax: 706-387-6273

Use the Clerk for the criminal case behind a release, including bond orders, dismissal, sentencing, probation, revocation, and disposition. The online case search is free, though an account is required to print. For civil or criminal records before 1998, call ahead and allow 24 hours for archive retrieval.

Use the GDC offender search for a sentenced state offender and the GDC open-records portal for state correctional release or discharge records. GDC publishes a three-business-day initial-response period, $0.10 non-medical copies, and qualified search or redaction charges.

Parole and Community Supervision

Georgia State Board of Pardons and Paroles: 404-656-4661
Georgia Department of Community Supervision: 678-783-4337
DCS headquarters: 2 MLK Jr. Drive SE, Suite 866 E, Atlanta, GA 30334
